Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7, 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre actor, writer, director) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother and actress. Her brothers who are older than her are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who have also been actors. Evan as well as her brothers appeared in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive director. After a lengthy audition at the age of five, she was old when she had the opportunity to screen-test against Kirsten Dunst. In the year 1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom. She has appeared in TV series, feature films, and TV movies since. She was in Practical Magic (1998) and starred in the comedy S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter, and the film followed with Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her role in the film as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in the genre of Motion Picture: Drama and for an Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in an Acting Role. When she received the award from SAG and was the youngest actor in the Leading Role category. She won an Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Miniseries or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). Also, acclaim was awarded to her role as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008). Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood IV's younger sister, and Dana Wood's younger sister. Dancer. She is a lover of dancing, sing, rollblade, and horseback ride. She is a black belt at tae kwon-do. She's kept in touch with throughout her Once and Again (1999) and castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
