Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, an African-American author, is more well-known for her ex-wife comedian and host Steve Harvey. She chose to keep her personal life a secret and out of the spotlight. Even though Steve was not even in the same level of success he enjoys now the couple was married for 14 years. There have been rumors in Hollywood about the motives behind their breakup. Some have attributed it to Steve Harvey's cheating ways and others attribute it to his decision to pursue a different career path like comedy. The tragedy of her story can be traced to the incident that Steve had to leave her and two daughters, when she was expecting their third baby. Despite her struggles she managed to make a successful career in fashion designer and writer. Her works include "Marcia Eyes To The Soul", "Marcia" and "Marcia Poems From The Heart". Children are inspired by her kindness and generosity. The details of Marcia Harvey's childhood, aside from the fact that she was born to an African-American household and that they were not rich. She began her career at a department shop called "Saks Fifth Avenue". She was introduced to Steve after a while at a reception for a mutual friend's celebration. They were in love and they got married in the year 1980. Steve was an insurance professional at the time. The couple were blessed with twin girls in 1982. Steve began to feel disillusioned at work and began to consider a career in entertainment. He wanted to be a stand-up comic. This led to a lot of friction between him and Marcia and later, reports suggested they were about to separate by 1990. Marcia Harvey was famous for her divorce from Steve Harvey and marriage. The circumstances leading to their divorce in 1994 are mostly kept a secret however, it is clear that Marcia was expecting their third child when things completely fell apart. Marcia filed for divorce in 1993. After the divorce, and Steve Harvey's refusal to pay alimony or child support, Marcia was forced to go to the court.
