Lil Tecca

Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born on 26th August 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper. He gained mainstream recognition after the release of his 2019 hit single "Ransom", which was a top 4 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. His mixtape debut We Love You Tecca (2019) included the track. It reached fourth place in the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It Again". The debut album of his studio,"Virgo" (2020), debuted at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "Dolly" & "When You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on the 26th of August, 2002, in the Queens neighborhood in New York City to Jamaican immigrants. Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a neighborhood of Queens, but later relocated to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Since his early years, Sharpe had aspirations of being a part of the NBA However, around 12 years old Sharpe shifted his focus to pursue a career in music. Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. When Tecca was just nine years old, he catered to his passion for music through rapping with friends using his Xbox. Tecca and his friends would often make diss tracks about each other. One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud years back, but the track has since been deleted. At first, he didn't have plans to pursue a musical career although he did dream of becoming an NBA star. He started taking music more seriously after having dropped the interest in basketball at the age of middle school. The first track to become famous, "Tectri", was created by Lil Gummybear in collaboration with Lil Gummybear and released in the early part of 2017. Tecca also released "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his early tracks. His smash hit single "Ransom," which was first posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd in 2019, started Tecca's meteoric rise. The song peaked at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and has been played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
